In Hinduism, the Puranas hold special importance, with 18 Puranas considered significant. Among them, the Markandeya Purana is highly valued, which includes the Durga Saptashati text, beloved by Goddess Durga. This text contains 700 verses and describes various forms of the goddess. Reciting Durga Saptashati is said to fulfill all desires, provide all types of physical, spiritual, and material benefits, and remove negative influences from life.
However, reciting the entire Durga Saptashati may not be feasible for everyone, so many people read specific chapters of it instead.
According to the Rudrayamala Tantra, reciting the Siddha Kunjika Stotra also provides the benefits of the Durga Saptashati recitation. It is also written in many places that reciting only the fourth chapter of Durga Saptashati gives the complete benefits of the entire text. Scriptures say that reading the fourth chapter grants the fortune of seeing the goddess. It resolves many life problems. If you recite only the Kunjika Stotra, do at least 108 recitations and also perform a havan (fire ritual) for the goddess. After the havan, offer kheer, halwa, etc., as prasad (offering).
First Chapter: Reading the first chapter removes all types of worries.
Second Chapter: Reciting the second chapter removes enemy obstacles and benefits in legal matters.
Third Chapter: Reading the third chapter eliminates opponents.
Fourth Chapter: Reciting the fourth chapter grants the fortune of seeing Goddess Durga.
Fifth Chapter: The fifth chapter fulfills desires.
Sixth Chapter: Reading the sixth chapter removes sorrow, poverty, fear, etc.
Seventh Chapter: Reciting the seventh chapter brings good fortune and success in endeavors.
Eighth Chapter: The eighth chapter fills life with love and friendship.
Ninth Chapter: Reciting the ninth chapter leads to the progress of offspring and resolves many life problems.
Tenth Chapter: The tenth chapter brings special grace from the goddess and increases wealth.
Eleventh Chapter: The eleventh chapter provides all material comforts.
Twelfth Chapter: The twelfth chapter is said to bring all benefits.
Thirteenth Chapter: The thirteenth chapter grants liberation (moksha).
