According to the Amanta Hindu calendar, Krishna Paksha Chaturthi of Jyeshtha month (Purnimanta Ashadha month) is celebrated as day of Krishnapingal Sankashti. On the day of Krishnapingal Sankashti Chaturthi, the Krishnapingal form of Lord Ganesha is worshipped. The complexion of this form of Ganesha is dark brown and black due to which He is called Krishnapingal. By worshipping Lord Ganapati on this day, one can achieve success in every aspect of life. Sankashti Tithi is considered the best occasion to worship Lord Ganesha.

By reciting the Lord Ganesha's name with devotion on Sankashti Chaturthi, all kinds of obstacles and hindrances in life are destroyed. In Sankashti Vrat, Chandrodayavyapini Chaturthi is accepted. On this day, Shodashopachara Puja of Shri Ganesha is performed.
