Navaratri Third Day: Worship Goddess Chandraghanta and Receive Desired Blessings

On the third day of Sharadiya Navaratri, i.e., October 5, one should worship Goddess Chandraghanta. This third form of Goddess Durga is extremely enchanting and provides ultimate peace. A crescent moon, resembling the shape of a bell, is present on her forehead. According to some beliefs, she is named Chandraghanta because of this. It is said that the goddess maintains balance in the entire universe.

Understanding the Goddess's Form

The form of the goddess is highly captivating. She has a crescent moon on her forehead in the shape of a bell. Her body shines like gold. The goddess has ten hands and holds weapons like a lotus, bow, sword, pitcher, mace, and trident. She is in a warrior posture and controls the Manipura chakra.

Peace through Worship

If you are facing any difficulties in life, worshiping the goddess brings peace. The sound of the bell is significant in the goddess’s worship. When the sound of the bell is heard through the goddess’s grace, all kinds of worries and negativity are removed. The divine sound of the bell has great importance in meditation and yoga.

Goddess's Protective Form

Though the goddess's form is ready for battle, she is known to provide supreme maternal affection. The goddess’s first form is Shailaputri and the second is Brahmacharini, who was in penance to gain Lord Shiva. Her third form is after attaining Lord Shiva, symbolizing the primordial power. The goddess likes the color red, so red flowers and clothes should be used in her worship.
