In Indian astrology, people consider Pitra Dosha a very significant flaw. This dosha arises when the souls of our ancestors remain unsettled for some reason or when the effects of their unfinished actions appear in the descendant’s horoscope. As a result, many problems arise in a person’s life, such as delay in marriage, obstacles in childbirth, financial problems, and family conflicts. Today, we will tell you how to identify Pitra Dosha in a horoscope and what remedies can help get relief from it.
Pitra Dosha means the negative influence caused by the dissatisfaction of ancestors or their unfulfilled desires. This dosha usually appears in the birth chart due to specific conjunctions or aspects of planets like the Sun, Moon, Rahu, Ketu, and Saturn. Especially when malefic planets aspect the ninth house (the house of dharma and ancestors) or when planets like Rahu, Ketu, Saturn, or the Sun occupy it, Pitra Dosha forms.
People consider the ninth house as the house of ancestors. If malefic planets like Rahu, Ketu, or Saturn occupy this house or aspect it, it can indicate Pitra Dosha.
The Sun represents the father. If the Sun is debilitated, combust, or placed with Rahu or Ketu, it can also indicate Pitra Dosha.
If planets like Rahu–Ketu, Saturn, or the Sun form a conjunction in the ninth house, this dosha becomes more effective.
If a priest performs this puja properly, it can reduce the effects of Pitra Dosha. People consider this puja especially effective on Amavasya, during Pitru Paksha, or Shraddha Paksha.
Performing Pind Daan and Tarpan gives peace to the souls of ancestors and helps pacify Pitra Dosha. One should perform it on every Amavasya and during Pitru Paksha.
Regular chanting of these mantras can reduce the effects of Pitra Dosha.
Light a lamp under the Peepal tree every Saturday and offer water in the name of ancestors.
Feed the needy.
