The Unfailing Remedies of Lakshmi Tantra for the Blessings of Goddess Lakshmi

To receive the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi, it is essential to follow certain practices along with worship and chanting. Here, we present powerful remedies for pleasing Lakshmi, which she herself revealed to King Indra in the Lakshmi Tantra. These teachings explain how wealth does not reside in the homes of those who ignore these principles. Even today, homes that do not observe these practices are filled with poverty.

 

 

Lakshmi Tantra – Lakshmi leave house

According to the tale, once, when Goddess Lakshmi left the demons to reside with King Indra, he asked her why she abandoned the demons. In response, Lakshmi explained that she left the demons due to their sinful ways and for the welfare of the gods. She shared that those who fast regularly, rise before sunrise, refrain from eating curd and sattu at night, and always make offerings of clarified butter and sacred items in the morning, will always have Lakshmi’s presence in their homes. The demons of ancient times followed these practices, which is why Lakshmi resided with them. However, as the demons became immoral, Lakshmi left them for the gods.

Lakshmi Reside According to Lakshmi Tantra

King Indra inquired why Lakshmi did not show grace to the demons anymore. Goddess Lakshmi told him that she resides in the homes of those who are charitable, wise, pious, and truthful. She clarified that she does not reside in the homes of people who do not follow these virtues. In ancient times, demons followed the path of charity, learning, and performing yajnas (sacrifices), but now they have become sinful. Therefore, Lakshmi could no longer reside with them.

 

 

 

Where Lakshmi Does Not Reside

Lakshmi explained that she does not reside where fools are respected, or where women indulge in immoral behavior. She also does not reside in homes where women do not follow proper conduct or maintain cleanliness. Goddess Lakshmi declared that she herself is the embodiment of wealth (Dhanalakshmi), prosperity, wisdom, virtue, and success. She permanently resides in places where people follow dharma (righteousness). Lakshmi always favors the brave who do not retreat in battle and defeat their enemies through valor.

Who Lives in Poverty

Lakshmi further stated that she does not reside in homes where purity is ignored in cooking, where people touch ghee with unclean hands, or where the wife orders her in-laws and servants around with disrespect. She leaves those homes where the wife tortures her husband, does not obey him, or engages in immoral acts with other men. Lakshmi also does not bless people who rejoice at the misfortune of their well-wishers, harbor ill will towards friends, or work for their harm. Such people remain perpetually in poverty.
