Perched high on a cliff in the Sahyadri range, Saptashrungi Devi Mandir is one of the 3.5 Shaktipeeths of Maharashtra. The name "Saptashrungi" literally translates to "Seven Peaks." The Goddess here is 10 feet tall and has 18 hands, holding various weapons.

Significance: The Swayambhu Idol
- 18 Hands: The idol is known as Mahishasura Mardini (The slayer of the demon Mahishasura). It is swayambhu (self-manifested) and covered in Sindoor.
- Funicular Trolley: For those who cannot climb the 500+ steps, a ropeway (funicular trolley) service is available.
