What is the main plea in the Raksha Raksha Hare Stotram?

The primary request is for protection from being submerged in the ocean of desire (kāmasāgarē), which is filled with dangers and obstacles.

What qualities characterize the 'ocean of desire' as described in the Stotram?

It's described as filled with bad reputation, difficult to cross, full of dangers, hindering devotion, causing forgetfulness, and obscuring true knowledge.

What specific imagery is used to portray the dangers within this 'ocean of desire'?

The ocean contains waves of birth, is crowded with crocodiles of women (yōṣinnakraughasaṅkulē), filled with currents of passion, and is both deep and terrifying (gambhīrē ghōra ēva ca).

According to the Stotram, what can help one cross the ocean of desire?

Using intellect as a boat (buddhyā taraṇyā) and knowledge (vijñānair) to be rescued. Krishna is asked to be the helmsman (karṇadhāraḥ).

What are the benefits of reciting the Brahma-kr̥ta Śrī Kr̥ṣṇa Stōtram with devotion?

One who recites this stotram with devotion will not be submerged in worldly affairs, will conquer Maya, gain true knowledge, and become a great devotee of Krishna.
